How many times has it happened that you want to put flowers on that side of the house but the soil is not fertile enough. Or… If you only had soil instead of a concrete walkway you would plant a beautiful garden or vegetables and fruits.
The solution is simple – the Garden Sock. A portable sock in which you put your soil and compost. This makes it possible to place your garden where you like. Indoors or out, you can now beautify your space with nature as well as grow the foods you eat with more flexibility.
Professional landscapers have used it in corporate settings as well as on golf courses.
The garden sock is basically a fabric tube that you fill with your choice of soil and compost. It’s designed to hold about 35 pounds of soil and contains the moisture within it when you water it. When you lie it down on the ground, you can bend it into shapes you like or that fit the area they’re in. You can even change the placement during the day to give it maximum sunlight.
Weeds are not a problem because they don’t have a way to get into the soil. In fact the only soil that is exposed to the sun or light is the hole you cut out in the fabric when seeding or planting.
One of the most clever uses I’ve seen is on a wall. A friend invited me over to see his garage garden. He uses the garden sock on the shelves as well as on the floors and mobile shelves he has built. Of course he uses LED lighting and hydroponic systems because after all it is a garage garden, but it was amazing to see the volume of crops being grown in this unlikely location of the house.
